Overview
The Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo was named depending on Z31 and Z32 aspects of the sports car. The Nissan Bluebird Store sold the vehicle in Japan. The car symbolized the comfort and luxury of the previous generations. Two special versions of the same model were manufactured that celebrated the company’s anniversary. At the time of release, it was absolutely unique with almost nothing being continued from the Z31. The redesigned body had a much more significant footprint with a round profile along with hard edges. The drag coefficient of 0.31 was very much comparable to the Z31. The twin turbocharger had a newly activated wheel steering system at the rear.
Style and evolution
The Z31 body was modified a little by adding features like side skirts, flares and a sixteen inch wheel. The black plastic pieces were painted in order to match the color of the body. Elimination of the hood gave a sleek appearance to the entire body. Bumpers serving aerodynamic purposes and fog lamps in the front part comprised the finishing touches. The sealed beam headlight system was replaced by the bulb based headlamps. The rear reflector was upgraded to a narrow tail lighting system that spanned the entire width of the car. An LED was also connected to a third brake. It went on to be a marketing success unlike any other car of the series.
Motorsports
The car had several wins under its belt. In the year 1986, the vehicle won a Trans Am for Sharp Racing. The turbo was made by Electramotive and took part in the IMSA Championship. It was tagged as a ‘fair lady’ in the all Japan Prototype Championship with a chassis number of T810 along with a VG30ET engine. The model is more likely to have enhanced transmission systems and is more reliable considering its new chassis and endorsement in factories. The success record of the team is often accounted to the role of good year tyres. After its wonderful performance in the IMSA, it also participated in the other GTSA categories mainly because of its newly made engine and chassis. The power brand of SOHC extended from 4000 to 9000rpm increasing up to 1000hp. The teams themselves consider the victory of Daytona as the biggest victory ever.
Awards and recognitions
The awards listed in the following sentences are in chronological order. It was named ‘Import Car of the year’ and was also listed as one amongst the top ten cars. Z32 listed it as one in the 100 greatest cars of all time. It was also included within the 20 best cars over the last 20 years. It featured in the most stylish cars of the past fifty years by GQ magazine. It was also compared with similar sporting activities by Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, Dodge Stealth and a few others.
